4M 2012 Association Annual Meeting - Presentations available

Thankyou to everyone who attended the 4M2012 Conference in Vienna last month, and also to those who attended the Annual Meeting. Natalie Withenshaw and Rob Bell of C-Tech Innovation Ltd were also there to introduce C-Tech as the new secretariat support for the 4M Association. Presentations from Chris Matthews, Stefan Dimov and C-Tech Innovation are now available.

The next 4M Annual Conference will be in San Sebastian, Spain on the 8th to the 10th October 2013 and hosted by Tekniker. Please add the dates to your calendars and more information will be available soon on the 4M2013 pages. Membership Fees for 2013 are as follows: €500 for corporate members and €200 for individual members. Benefits of membership include reduced fees for the conference, website access, and for corporate members, the option to include an advert in the conference proceedings. REMINDER Call for Papers - The 8th International Conference on MicroManufacturing (ICOMM2013)

Papers are sought to address theoretical and applied research issues related to manufacture, assembly and metrology for components and systems with nano/micro/meso-scale features and dimensions. All papers must be technical in nature and include original work. Approx. 100 papers will be presented in technical sessions and published in the conference. Copyrights remain with the authors. Two-page extended abstracts will be peer reviewed. Extended abstracts are due tomorrow: November 16, 2012; Full Manuscripts are due on February 22, 2013. Read more>>

COTECH - Final meetings, workshop and results report

Cotech The final meeting, final workshop and a COTECH special session all took place in Vienna in October 2012. The third Training for Professionals workshop was attended by just over 60 people who were introduced to the final results of the COTECH project. Presentations by the various sub-project leaders supported an impressive display of the physical demonstrators produced by the COTECH consortium. These range from a 3.5mm diameter complex 8 pin connector for hearing aids to translucent self-ligating brackets for use in orthodontic care. Public consultation on "European Metrology Research Programme under Horizon 2020"

Have your say on the future direction of metrology in Horizon 2020. (Deadline 23/12/12). The consultation aims at assessing the state of play of the European metrology research system and the challenges it is facing. It is specifically seeking input in connection with the preparation of a potential successor initiative of EMRP (European Metrology Research programme) under Horizon 2020. Read more>>
