IEEE ISAM2009 17/11/2009
20/11/2009
2009 IEEE International Symposium on Assembly and Manufacturing (IEEE ISAM 2009) will be held in Seoul, Korea on 17 to 20 November 2009. The Symposium aims at providing a forum for researchers and practitioners working on the diverse issues of assembly and manufacturing in various product sizes, production scales, and product life-cycle. Glass Microfluidic Device for High Throughput Mixing and ReactionsDolomite, a world leader in microfluidic design and manufacture, has introduced the 1ml Microreactor Chip, a glass microfluidic device designed for the mixing and reacting of two or three liquid reagent streams. 'Microparts’ Interest Group Workshop 28/10/2009
28/10/2009
Recent advances in modern manufacturing techniques has made it possible to manufacture small and complex components to extremely high accuracies. In direct response to the extreme demands of quality assurance for the measurement of size, form and position of microsystem parts, extensive research is being carried out in the area of geometrical measurement on the micro-scale. Nanostructures in Metal Moving Liquid UphillFemtosecond laser ablation is applied to change the surface structure of metals, such that it lifts liquid by capillary action at a speed that would make nature envious. June'09 BulletinWorkshop in Vienna, new book on Ceramics processing in microtechnology, Metals Division, Summer School, Governing Council, 4M/ICOMM Conference, Integrating optical sensing into lab-on-a-chip systemsA combination of waveguides and microfluidics is easily achieved through femtosecond-laser micromachining. Multipurpose integrated active contact lensesElectronics, sensors, and communication capabilities will all be embedded in future contact lenses, presenting new opportunities in applications ranging from medicine to virtual reality. 4M MicroFluidics Division 19/05/2009
The next and last divisional meeting (microfluidic division) will be held in Karlsruhe following the 4M GC meeting. 4M Metals Division 09/06/2009
The main task of this meeting will be to discuss our deliverable D7.8, the aim of which is the identification of successful cooperation strategies between research institutes whereby it should also reflect the current state of the art regarding this issue. During the divisional meeting we will discuss the outcome of the questionnaire, which is currently distributed amongst all 4M partners addressing their personal cooperation strategies, and to identify conclusions for the final report of this deliverable. 4M Polymer Processing division 28/05/2009
29/05/2009
This final meeting of the Polymer Processing Divison will be hosted by CEA at the Cadarache chateau in France. For full details of the agenda please contact Andreas Schoth. |
