4M Conference Series

The annual conference provides a forum for experts from industry and academia to share the results of their in-depth investigations and engage in interdisciplinary discussions about the creation of micro-manufacturing capabilities.

From 2009 it is co-organised with ICOMM aiming to bring together for the first time the worldwide community of micro-manufacturing experts.

Aim and Themes

The main goal of the Conference is to provide a forum for experts from industry and academia to share the results of their in-depth investigations and engage in interdisciplinary discussions about the creation of micro-manufacturing capabilities.

Papers are invited to present the latest advances in developing new processes and process chains for multi-material micro manufacture and their applications in microsystems-based products.

Tough T-shirt?

A cotton t-shirt reinforced with boron carbide is tough and hard but nonetheless elastic. These properties indicate future promise, but this material is not yet bulletproof.

Alexander Stuck

StuckDr. Alexander Stuck is currently head of CSEM BASEL. He is an expert in nano-optics and replication technologies. He has a track record of successful collaboration with industry leaders in brand protection and optical microsystems.

Before joining CSEM he was responsible for the development and production of DVD-recorders and managed a successful turnaround of a microtechnology company as CEO.
