Third Call for Papers Final Reminder - Deadline Today! (31st May 2013)

4M2013 The Third Call for Papers is published. Today is the last day to submit your papers. Five Invited Speakers have already been confirmed aswell as four projects: IMPRESS, SMARTFRAME, EUMINAfab and MIDEMMA will host special sessions within the conference programme. HELIOS Program Develops Complete Supply Chain for Integrating Photonics with CMOS Circuit via IC Fabrication Processes

HELIOS CEA-Leti announced that Europe is strongly positioned to design and manufacture volume silicon photonics devices because of the success of the recently completed HELIOS program. The €8.5m European Commission project developed a complete design and fabrication supply chain for integrating a photonic layer with a CMOS circuit. Read more>>

New Book Published on Areal Surface Texture Characterisation

AREAL This new book has been written by several of the key players in this field, and edited by one of our invited speakers: Professor Richard Leach, and will act as a companion to the recently published areal surface texture ISO standards. Tiny Chiplets: A New Level of Micro Manufacturing

Chiplets Using laser printers, Xerox’s Palo Alto Research Centre in California, may one day be able to create desktop manufacturing plants that use chiplets to “print” the circuitry for a wide array of electronic devices such as flexible smartphones that won’t break or smart-sensing medical bandages that could capture health data and then be thrown away.
